Joe,

I wrote my programs myself in Quick Basic under MS DOS, using old laptops of 
the 286/386 class: not a great sacrifice leaving them at work for 
months/years.  All what one has to do is to send command strings and expect 
replies according to the command syntax as per the instrument's  (5370A) 
manual.
I have to admit  and regret that I have no familiarity with EZGPIB.
A suggestion: for long term measurements, you could remove from the GPIB-232CV-
A the power supply card, and provide the required 5V from an USB or 
mouse/keyboard port of the PC.
