Can you see any boot text via the serial console when you power on? In my
experience with a couple other brands, their older models were typically an
off the shelf SBC running linux + custom timing board. You could alter the
boot process to start in single-user mode, change whatever user passwords
you needed, remember to save to the flash partition, then reboot and you're
good to go.
