Hi

The “problem” with these boards is that they have a (relatively) limited pinout. They duplicate
enough of the “newer” module’s pins to cover the function of the original Motorola module. 
Depending on which board you look at, various features may be difficult to access. 

Given how cheap a basic board is these days, you might do better with a board for your
control (and whatever else) plus an “intermediate” board. More or less, the intermediate is
empty save for a couple of multi pin connectors. Then you can adapt to any module out there.
