I was under the impression that the hammer blow gizmo was designed
to emulate the impact of a torpedo in a nearby compartmentâ¦.. The
force it produces does not appear to be something a person could
surviveâ¦..

Again, going by (possibly incorrect) memory: The âtestâ is permitted
to blow fuses. The device needs to operate after they are replaced.
