[time-nuts] Symmetricom XLI GPS Modul;e Up-Grade

I think there was a thread late last years about upgrading the M12 and Furuno GPS modular with the Jackson Labs or Synergy UBLOX based module. Has anyone actually installed and tested these options? Were they plug-and-play or require modifications?
