Wes had asked about these back in January. I finally found the parts and
name and looked it up.

Here's one of many hits, which is only one of many brands and versions
of these things.

I found the RF Solutions brand Gamma-915 a while back, at Arrow. The
price was ridiculously low, like a few bucks apiece, while everywhere
else they were $25 and up. I thought Arrow had a listing error, or was
closing them out rock-bottom. Anyway, the price was right, so I bought
out their entire stock about three dozen pieces. I like this model
because it's old-school in board technology and size, so easy to work on
and modify, it's in SIP form with 0.1" pinning, and comes with the
antenna SMA mounted. There are all sorts of surface mount and much
smaller versions too.

I looked back at Arrow, and it seems they did close them out, but they
are available at the usual places, at full price. If you're looking for
the Gamma-915 (or 968 for non-US), be aware there are two models, 915
and 915R. I forget which is which, but one runs on 3.3V (or was it 5?)
only, while the other has a LDO 3-terminal regulator to run over a
higher up range. I bought the whole works, so have some of each kind.
