[volt-nuts] Keithley 2001 - and Tek gear

Its one reason schematics increasingly are given out on new 
equipment, why make cloning easier in a market of tight competition. 
Add to it built in protective measures in the PCB to prevent reverse 
engineering and the ever present erasing of chip part numbers.

In an earlier discussion on this forum there was a question of a 
selecting a Keithley DMM, and this thread is an example why not 
Keithley, at least for now, given other choices.
