[volt-nuts] Solartron 7081 Calibration Problem

Mickle,

I have re-read the manual (again), reading the description of the
'Reference' input.

If I understand correctly, the positive side of 10 VDC goes to the HI
Reference input and the negative side goes to three terminals, the Reference
LO input, the Reference 0V input, and the main LO of the front panel input.

Correct?

Joe

Mickle,

Thanks for your response. How is your 7081 doing that you were making PCB
modifications to?

I guess I missed that somewhere in the manual. They just said connect to
the input. I missed the 'reference' to reference input. I will need to get
a proper connector. So, if I understand, short the front panel input and
apply 10 VDC to the Reference input.

Also, what do you use for a 'short circuit plug'? I just made up a
connector connecting pin 2 to pin 4 (HI to LO) and left the other pins open.
Is that correct?

I also, just now, noted that I missed a few steps in the resistance
calibration.

Back to the drawing board, so to speak.

Thanks again.

Joe

Joe,
'CALIBRATE REFERENCE' command refers to RATIO/REFERENCE input channel
calibration, located on the back side of 7081. It isn't calibration of the
internal voltage reference (zener). So, you should apply a +10 V to 'RATIO
HI' input and connect -10 V to 'RATIO LO', 0V and main input LO.

Mickle T.
