With colis that large, who needs an antenna?
My dad grew up on a farm near Belton, TX, and once
told me that he regularly listened to WLS in Chicago
with it.

And if the crystal set did not work, the coils shown
could be a good start to making a good-sized
Tesla coil.

I keep wondering if one could have a lot of Tesla
fun starting out with an induction hob as the generator,
by setting a suitably-tuned secondary on top.
