[time-nuts] US considers shutting down Loran

Why did they ever stop transmitting time on the GOES satellites (besides
age)? That was yet another backup source that used a different frequency
than GPS & LORAN...

Well, now that China has shot down one of its old satellites at
500 miles, the GPS navigation system is vulnerable.

Invulnerability is only temporary.
