Correction

I should have said LT1083/4/5 series.

You may well have to build a regulator using an LM723, low dopout 
designs are possible with pnp or MOSFET pass transistors.
The voltage rating for the 723 is more than adequate. The bonus is that 
these regulators have lower output voltage noise than any 3 terminal low 
dropout regulator.
