Mike,

I have not heard of the book, but your reference is good enough for me, it
seems like something I would enjoy having, and I would probably not be the
only one.

I have scanned big books and HP/Tek manuals in my spare time (not much of
that right now...), so while I can't guaranty it will be fast, and probably
not as good as what you expect from a commercial service, I guaranty it will
be usable. I will try to minimize damage to the book of course.

For that kind of book, I first copy all the pages at 600 dpi. I check that
all the pages came good, redo those that need it, and then scan the copies
into a pdf document. The pdf is not protected, so anyone can edit it later
if needed. For a big book like this one, I may scan the chapters
independantly. Somehow scanning hundreds of pages into a single pdf
sometimes confuses the scanner... Also, since the scanner sends me the pdf
via email, we have that pesky 10 MB file size limitation.

My address is in QRZ.com
