Luis-
Only beacuse I was more familiar with balanced doublers,
and felt that the x4 would need tougher filtering.

The balanced doublers also have much better conversion
efficiency, thus fewer gain stages. Or so I think.

Besides, I had drawers full of 1N5711 diodes, & toriods!
