Several years ago I had an Odetics GPS receiver. I don't know if it's the same one you have or not but here's a little bit of what I know about the one I had. The data output was meant to work with a dumb terminal such as a Wyse. It had to be told where it was in order for it to lock up and required a software update to deal with Y2000. When I contacted Odetics about this they laughed at me and asked why I had this unit and told me to buy a new one. Prior to Y2000 I found that it drifted and at best was undependable. THe project I was on finally abondoned the Odetics in favor of DATUm 9130 series receivers. The support at Odetics left a bad taste in my mouth for them. I fianlly gave the receiver to a friend who wanted it becuase "it looked neat".
