[time-nuts] GPS receiver in GM 2001 OnStar??

Does any one know if there is a GPS receiver in the 2001 Buick Park 
Avenue equiped wit the GM OnStar system. I would like to remove it from 
the car and put it to a better use if possible?

Never did us the OnStar service.
