[time-nuts] Spectracom frequency standard

This may be a bit half-off topic, so please reply to the direct e-
mail address if it is.

I am having a foray into the world of Spectracom NTP servers. Mmy
particular starting point was a bare-bones model 9183. Previously I
was faithful to Odetics and the little stratum 1 from them, that I
am now using now, cannot be faulted.

My questions are: Does anyone know which particular Rubidium freq.
standard the 9183 uses or a direct plug-in (without gnashing of
teeth) equivalent? I assume it uses a Rubidium source with 10 MHz
sine output and not TTL, please oh please correct me if I am wrong.
Are there any schematics for the 9183? If I were to also use a
xtal in combination with the Rubidium source (can I?), which OCXO
would/should I use? Is the xtal 10 MHz sine or TTL? Can anyone name
any manufacturers of acceptable xtals for this device?

Rubidium sources are relatively inexpensive and abundant, so I
should not have a problem finding the correct type if I do not have
one already.

Cheers,
Christopher
