Hi:
Recently I've re-discovered the great comedy (actually he's a jester,
philosopher and poet) of George Carlin. It appears that each of his HBO
specials was better than the prior one.
Back in 1978 his HBO special "George Carlin Again!" DVD contains the "What Time
is it?" monologue in chapter 5 that lasts about 14 min 25 seconds. It contains
dozens (maybe over a hundred?) time related words and also such things as:
"How about a jiffy or a flash? Which is quicker, a jiffy or a flash? I think
there are two flashes in a jiffy myself. But God knows how many jiffies there
are in two shakes of a lambs tail. But why did they use two shakes of a lambs
tail? What's wrong with the basic unit of measurement, one shake of a lamb's
tail? We can do our own arithmetic, thank you."
He also talks about the "seven dirty words" that went to the Supreme Court in
chapter 7 and goes into each one and some additional words, so if these offend
you be forewarned.
In his last HBO special of 2008 "It's bad for Ya" he address the Bill of
Privileges that's commonly called the Bill of Rights.
