If you don't want the shell, it can be easier to dismember the shell around the contact.

On some brands of those connectors you release the coax pins with a
thin-walled piece of brass or SS tubing that slips over the pin from the
front (not wire) side. You push the tube in until it compresses the spring
collar on the pin, then withdraw it from the wire side.

You can make the tool from hobby shop thin wall tubing stock.
