Ok,  best solution looks like ebay item 230417555926.  A TM506 mainframe for $25+36 shipping.  The mainframe includes two TM500 "toolbox" modules.   Flip the toolboxes back onto Ebay...  they can bring around $15-$20 ea (there's  guys trying to sell them for $30-$40).   Scrap the TM506 for transistors.  Sell excess transistors, power switch/coupling,  rail guides, etc on Ebay.  Retire early on your loads 'o filthy lucre profit...

Plus,  those toolboxes may just have some goodies inside.  I have found A6302 current probes and SG504 leveling heads and other neat stuff in those "slot fillers"
