You've checked the 5060A manual to see if they give noise-floor test
details, correct?

The 8505 may not be stable enough to let you see what's going on, but it's
not too hard to rig up something else that will be.  I don't know if you've
seen my attempt at sweeping a 5062C tube:

plot.  I'm unsure of the tech details behind Tom's setup but it was probably
more manageable than mine.  I think he just plotted the meter current, with
the tube running in its native 5061A habitat.
