[time-nuts] Paywall rant

The IEEE may well publish 'almost a third...', but how many people
actually read their stuff? It would be interesting to know what percentage
of articles are actually read by more than a handfull, working in each 
field.

At one point I was getting easily 6" of professional journals a month from
AIP, OSA, and IEEE. I stopped that because there were maybe one or two
articles a year of interest, and I ran out of bookshelf space.

IMO, the IEEE is pretty much useless for practicing engineers. It is
mostly by and for academics to build up their resumes
