Never heard of Discworld, or Lord Venitari.  This clock, however, is pure genius.  

And impeccable timing-  the wall clock at work is on the fritz.  I now have an ulterior motive for "fixing" it <grin>

A quick Google search turned up this link, complete with a PCB file, and already proven circuit schematic.
