Hi

Unfortunately there are (and have been) a number of gizmos out there with
1pps outputs that are far from "timing grade" parts. Often the reason is
that the manufacturer doesn't have a TimeNut on staff (with a pile of gear)
to ring the bugs out of the part. Without some careful debug, there are
inevitably going to be issues.

The adafruit GPS has a built in antenna.  But you can add an external one.

But why use this for timing?  They don't even give a spec for timing
accuracy and it is likely NOT a timing GPS.  It is  a navigation unit.
 Pretty much useless for timing.

Also the price is to high.  You can do better in eBay, real timing
units sell for as little as $15.
