A TCXO “corrects” the (likely) third order temperature curve with some form of synthetic adjustment . The resultant cure is likely to be a 5th or higher order curve. It may well go peak to peak error over a (say) 10 C range. This makes temperature stabilization a gamble. You *might* stabilize it at a step part of the result curve. 

Much simpler to just shield the TCXO from drafts and fast changes ….
