OK have an answer for the antenna sense system.
Bert had suggested a 220 ohm resistor and inductor on the GPS antenna input.
Well there is a catch to that.

If you connect the resistor externally say through a tee connector it will
work.
If you connect it across the GPS receiver it will not work.
That connector is isolated from the input antenna connector. As handy as it
is its useless.

It turns out Q5 is the antenna sense transistor and the lead next to J7
connects directly to the center pin of the Antenna connector.
Connecting a 180 ohm or who knows 200 or more ohm will fake the system out.
The big fat trace coming from J7 is ground. Simply solder the resistor to
the transistor and that ground and its done.
