[time-nuts] MSF Shutdown

 Hi Paul,
The GRI is 67310, left over from when Anthorn was part of the Lessay chain.
The Anthorn station was originally expected to be at Loop Head in Ireland but never went into service there, although SRS never caught up with that and FS700s are still programmed to show Loop Head on the LCD display.

When Loran C was shut down in Europe an experimental eLoran transmission was left running from Anthorn and despite some interruptions it remains on air, transmitting simultaneously as a master and one secondary.

Because it's no longer an "official" transmission there's no information on outages etc, the Loran Europe web site was shut down along with the service, but it's a fair bet that for safety reason it will also be off air when MSF is down for maintenance.
Nigel

"A maintenance shutdown of the MSF service to allow safe working on the masts and antennas was scheduled to take place from 28 April - 13 May 2020.The planned work has now been completed, and no further interruptions to the service are expected during the period."
Loran confirmed as back on also.
