Rich,
I might guess the laptop is putting the rs 232 port to sleep since the
system isn't being touched. A pure guess. But I run LH on a win XP laptop
and seem to recall that happened to me also.
Do not recall what I did to fix it quite a while ago. Think it was down in
the BIOS and various power savings at higher levels.
