[time-nuts] Fw: Lucent KS-24361 SOLVED

I had assumed (yeah I know) that this would do an automatic survey, which I think my Z3805A does.  Uh, no.  So, after giving up on my USB RS422 adapter, I used my one real serial port and the "pin hack" to talk to the thing and tell it do a survey.  Things are finally progressing.  I'm still uncertain about the 1024 week bug, though.  During all the things I tried before I finally got comms going, I swapped out the UT+ V2.2 receiver for a UT+ V3.1.  So if there was a 1024 week bug (which I saw on the receiver on my Z3805A when I got it) this would have fixed it - I think.

Some years ago a bunch of us bought a number of these Lucent KS-24361 unit pairs.  Mine has been in storage till now, and I'm trying to bring it back up using old notes.  So far I'm not getting anywhere and I was wondering if these things have maybe fallen foul of the 1024-week GPS bug?  Anyone know?  I guess my next step is to get the comms to it working regardless.
