The latest Synergy Tech Note #484-B (see my previous email on how to 
download this Tech Note) shows the GPS receiver in the HP 58503A can be 
replaced by the Synergy Model SSR-VP8/R P/N 16U54525G-B8 module, but 
apparently the HP 58503B GPSDO units were delivered with different types 
of GPS receivers. The data sheet shows that a picture of the installed 
receiver is needed to select the correct replacement. The difference may 
be how the coax connector is mounted.

You really need to download that Tech Note but be sure you get the 
latest version, #484-B.
