[time-nuts] Rollover: Thunderbolt

Hi

Pretty much all of the GPSDO’s on eBay are long past their “end of support” date. In a lot of cases, even
when “in support” free updates were not available, even to OEM customers. The simple answer with the
TBolt is to run it into something (like Lady Heather ) that understands what’s going on. The display software
then corrects for the issue and (more or less) all is well.

In some cases a manual “update the date” process will fix the problem. That generally holds as long as
power to the unit is not lost. Once power cycles, you get to manually enter the date again. My preference
is to let LH deal with this sort of stuff.

In this case “all is well” includes that the TBolt keeps putting out a proper PPS at the top of each second.
The 10 MHz is properly disciplined. What happens around a leap second is up to LH since the PPS really
does not care about UTC / GPS time.
