Hello fellow nuts,

I have recently added a Symmetricom TimeSource 3000 to my collection of
gear.

I was able to locate a manual online and have done some research on what's
possible with this device. I was hoping to use it as a NTP server for my
home network.

I have tried wiresharking the Ethernet port. This yeilds no results. It's
not chatty in the least bit, which leads me to believe it was not used a
NTP server.

I also have tried connecting to the craft port on the front and serial b
port on the back with a Cisco console cable. 9600 baud N81 gets me nothing.
Maybe they used a unique serial cable?

I was lucky enough to get the GPS antenna with the unit. When I power it
up, I do get a green GPS light, so I believe it's working on some level.

I need to dig my oscilloscope out of storage and hook it up to the 10MHz
output.

Is there some type of software I need to configure this thing?

If anyone has any info on this unit, please let me know. It was litterally
sitting by the dumpster. Trying to keep working electronics out of the
landfill.
