Paul,

I've had pretty good luck lifting this sort of stuff in the past.

If I don't care about the board, heat from the bottom side with a torch 
or hot air gun (preferred). In the case of these modules, I used a 
couple of exacto blades, and my cheap hot air gun set to 400C, and 
tweezers. Lifted off in a 10 or 20 seconds.

See attached image. (Pictures being worth 1000 words and all...)

The exacto blades probably aren't needed. I did notice them move 
slightly, when the solder went soft. Then lifted the module off the 
board quick to prevent overheating from the now probably very hot 
carrier board.

Also, Make sure your tweezers grab the module circuit board and not the 
cover. Hate to pull the cover and leave the module behind!
