Interesting experiment is underway in the shortwave bands on 2.5, 5, 10, 15, and 20 MHz.

CNSG sponsored many HF experiments that utilized WWV and WWVH. These projects included testing ionospheric propagation models, measuring ionospheric movement induced doppler shift on HF signals, assessing HF time-difference of arrival geopositioning techniques, and calibrating HFDF systems.

The working group asks amateur radio operators and shortwave listeners to record the IQ of this special WWV/WWVH signal. Beyond the data collected, the working group is trying to give WWV an new, scientific on-air purpose. Details are available via:

Attached shows the amplitude plot of the special test signal broadcast at minute 8 (WWV) and minute 44 (WWVH) each hour.
